Educational Programs

UC Merced

Throughout the Fall of 2025, Origin Stories Project, in partnership with the University of California at Merced, launched a campus, community-centered project to celebrate the University’s 20th anniversary. Spearheaded by art professor Tonya Lopez-Craig, students, faculty and alumni throughout the University participated in the project, creating almost eighty boxes.

The exhibition, titled The Ground We Share: The UC Merced Origins Project, opened on Thursday, October 24 at the UC Merced Art Gallery and is ongoing. An all-campus reception will follow in February 2026.

Castro Valley High School

Also in the Fall of 2025, Jennifer Jervis, EdD, our Director of Educational Programming initiated the project with an art class at Castro Valley High to elicit individual stories and artwork of Legacy, Arrival, Adversity and Revelation.
